FROM ALMUNECAR
Wherever you are coming from, your best route is to head for Almunecar - although if you are coming from the Granada City direction there is a more pleasing - but much much longer (in time) - route across the mountains. But on your first effort I should stick to the main routes.
When you arrive at Almunecar, remain on the N340 as if you were heading towards Malaga/Nerja or Motril/Almeria dependant upon which direction you are approaching from.
On the northern edge of Almunecar you will see a large CAMPSA Petrol Station. Turn off here and take the directions to Jete and Otivar. As you turn off the main road, and after about 100 metres you will come to a T Junction (with a bar called Manolos opposite). Turn right here and you are then on the road to Otivar (about 13 kms.).
You will pass through San Sebastian and then Torrecuevos, under the new motorway bridge and then through Jete and straight onto Otivar. It takes about 20 minutes from the Petrol Station.
FROM GRANADA
You can either turn off at Junction 138 near Padul and take the very pretty mountain road (WARNING : No petrol on this road available), or
Take the main road towards Motril and Almunecar and then take the Itrabo amd Molvizar turning continue along the road for some 10 km or so - and then turn right - and Otivar is 5 minutes from that turning.
